چکیده

The sensitivity of nucleon-nucleus elastic scattering observables to the offshell structure of nucleon-nucleon t-matrices, derived from realistic NN potentials, is investigated within the context of a full-folding model based on the impulse approximation. Our study uses recently developed NN potential models, which describe a subset of the NN data base with a χ2 per datum ∼1, which means that the NN t-matrices are essentially on-shell equivalent. We calculate proton-nucleus elastic scattering observables for 16O, 40Ca, and 208Pb between 100 and 200 MeV laboratory energy. We find that the elastic scattering observables are insensitive to off-shell differences of the employed NN t-matrices. A more detailed investigation of the scattering equation and the optical potential as given in a factorized approximation reveals that the elastic scattering observables do not sample the NN t-matrices very far offshell where they exhibit differences. Sensitivity of nucleon-nucleus scattering to the off-shell behavior of on-shell equivalent NN potentials.

The sensitivity of nucleon-nucleus elastic scattering to the off-shell behavior of realistic nucleon-nucleon interactions is investigated when on-shell equivalent nucleon-nucleon potentials are used. The study is based on applications of the full-folding optical model potential for an explicit treatment of the off-shell behavior of the nucleon-nucleon effective interaction. Applications were ma...

Deuteron effects in nucleon-nucleus scattering at intermediate energies.

%e investigate the role of the full dynamical dependence of the free off-shell nucleon-nucleon t matrix on the optical potential for proton-nucleus elastic scattering in the 100—400 MeV incident energy range within a full-folding model context. Particular emphasis is placed on the effects of deuteron formation by explicitly taking into account pole singularities in the free nucleon-nucleon t ma...

Comparison of nucleon-nucleon potential models in a full-folding description of elastic scattering.

The sensitivity of proton-nucleus elastic scattering to different nucleon-nucleon effective interactions is studied within the framework of the nonrelativistic full-folding model. Calculations of the nucleon-nucleus optical potential are made using the free nucleon-nucleon t-matrices generated from the Bonn, Paris, Hamada-Johnston, and Melbourne nucleon-nucleon potentials, whose full off-shell ...

Full-Folding Optical Potentials for Elastic Nucleon-Nucleus Scattering based on Realistic Densities

Optical model potentials for elastic nucleon nucleus scattering are calculated for a number of target nuclides from a full-folding integral of two different realistic target density matrices together with full off-shell nucleonnucleon t-matrices derived from two different Bonn meson exchange models. Elastic proton and neutron scattering observables calculated from these full-folding optical pot...

Full folding calculations for proton-nucleus elastic scattering at intermediate energies.

The full folding optical potential for the elastic scattering of protons from ' 0 and Ca at 200 MeV is calculated. The fully off-shell free nucleon-nucleon t matrix, at a fixed energy, derived from the Paris potential and harmonic oscillator nuclear single-particle wave functions are used for both systems. The calculated observables show that the optimal factorization approximation provides a g...
